What is RSS?

The web is an immense source of information, sometimes keeping on top of it all can be a little overwhelming. Wouldn't things be so much easier if you could have the latest news and features delivered directly to you? Good news, you can with RSS.

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is the quickest, most hassle-free means of you obtaining the content you want. No more struggling to stay up-to-date with all the news that matters most, RSS takes out all the hard work by delivering only the information that you are interested in.

How do I get an RSS feed?

First things first, you need to get your hands on a news reader - an application that will organise and deliver your content. There are literally thousands of different variations, some use a web browser, others run from your desktop, all however allow you to display and subscribe to the RSS news feeds you're interested in. View a list of feed readers. NewsGator, Awasu and Pluck are just a handful of the more popular news readers available.

Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Internet Explorer 7 all include built-in functionality that detects RSS feeds automatically.

There are numerous ways you can subscribe to one of our RSS feeds, try copying and pasting the URL of the feed into your news reader, or simply dragging it across, maybe you'd prefer to search for the feed from within the news reader itself. There is no right or wrong way to get your news, it's down to your personal preferences.
